Leggings / Uniqlo
Boots / Dr. Martens

I got this Streetlight Manifesto T-shirt the second time I saw them live. They always put on a great show and they're amazing performers live

I recently purchased new Dr. Marten boots during this winter. They go up to my knee and they're super comfortable, warm, and durable. Unfortunately, I was not able to get any good pictures but there will definitely be more to come!

Hi everyone! Sorry that I haven't posted in awhile - school has been so hectic and busy since I got back; I've barely had time to shoot quality photos for you guys!

I do sometimes post more outfit of the days on my Instagram, so feel free to follow me on there! (I update it more frequently)

Spring is coming slowly and surely - it was a beautiful 50 degrees this weekend! Unfortunately it's now cold again (and is supposed to snow this week) but I'm still hopeful that the flowers will begin to bloom soon.

Living in New York City means walking a lot, and in the winter, knowing how to dress for the cold, windy weather is essential. Before I moved here, no one in my home town wore "real" winter clothes: a peacoat and maybe a scarf would be suffice, and some people even just wore leather jackets in the freezing cold! We were able to drive places, staying warm in the comfort of the heaters in our cars.

Fur coats have been my savior (or at least one of them) in the city this season. The only downside is that they're not good in the rain or snow, and it rains/snows a pretty good amount here.

Whether it's real or fake, both are super warm! Accessorizing with fur, such as fur collars and vests, are a great addition to the winter wardrobe as well.

If you have vintage/thrift/consignment shops near you, definitely check them out if you're in need of a good fur coat. I have gotten all of mine from thrift/vintage shops and not only have they been great coats but they're also all less than $100 each! I also prefer the "classic" fur coats that are oversized and chunky, but if you are looking for a more modern & young type of fur coat, stores such as Nordstrom, Chicwish, Sheinside, Romwe, Topshop and NastyGal have great options.

And remember, the key is to layer! I always bundle up in a knit/cashmere scarf, and either wrap it around my head or wear a hat to keep my head warm. Both are very essential!!

Stay warm!

Flannel / thrifted
Hat / Topshop
Pants / American Apparel
Shoes / TUK Creepers

Haven't worn a flannel buttoned up in awhile, so I decided to mix things up a little bit. For winter time I layered a uniqlo heatteach tank top underneath, which actually helps a lot when you're out in the cold. I also love the material that Uniqlo's heatteach shirts are made out of; they're so comfy and light but help you feel warm in the winter time.

I paired my flannel top with a pair of American Apparel riding pants - I love wearing buttoned up shirts with high waisted pants.

And, of course, I have to have my dark lipstick. Here, I am wearing Kat Von D's lipstick in homegirl. It has a warm undertone so in flash photos it looks more red/plum, but in regular daylight it is a deep purple/plum color, especially if you layer it a lot.

I am officially back in NYC and it has been so frigid. I've been cuddling up in a blanket with warm tea (rice green tea has been my favorite lately), watching Netflix and reading because every time I go out it feels like Antarctica!

Even though I have 1.5 months of winter left to go, I am way too excited for spring. All of the semi-annual sales happening to make room for the new spring collections coming out is making me want to start shopping for spring already. I'm excited for more sunshine, longer days, warmer weather, and of course, flowers!!

Kimonos are big on my must-haves list for spring 2014. I've been obsessed with them since autumn, but I haven't had a chance to wear them that often since the weather got cold pretty quickly. They are a perfect addition for spring and summer because many of them are made out of chiffon or silk, giving it an "airy" feel.

Mink Pink Kimono at Wasteland - $108

In addition, for many people out there who are petite like me (I'm 5'2") and feel that wearing long coats/sweaters/etc might make them look weird, have no fear. I was afraid of this as well at first; sometimes long articles of clothing can overwhelm a petite/short frame. I own a long fur coat and a long kimono/cardigan that are both down to my calves, and I find that wearing high-waisted bottoms often help elongate my shape more and helps to balance out the long outerwear. Wearing shoes with platform/heels helps as well, but I tend to wear flat shoes more.

And as much as I enjoy high fashion and more upscale stores like Zara and Topshop, I will always be a sucker for oversized vintage T-shirts that I buy for less than $10 at thrift shops. Unless it's a totally cool design or you love the cotton it's printed on, what's the point of getting a band T-shirt that a bunch of people might have the same of? (especially for me going to a fashion conscious school where many of the people shop at the same retail stores as I do)

I do not take credit for any of the above photos posted.

Happy New Year everyone!
My apologies for not blogging much lately - I'm back home from school in Jersey, and like New York, it's been too cold to really be able to take many photos outside. I'm still waiting on my photos from New Year's Even to get developed as well.

Meanwhile, I figured I would begin doing Fashion Inspiration posts. I read a couple of blogs where people post their fashion inspirations and it's something I enjoy a lot for days when I really cannot decide on what to wear (perhaps it is also time for a semi-annual closet cleanout).

I've been watching a lot of American Horror Story lately, particularly the third season, Coven. I really enjoy this season because it revolves around witches and voodoo magic, both of which I find interesting and fascinating. I've been very much into the supernatural lately and wiccan rituals and ideals, and the cultures have inspired me to translate it into fashion.
